VipKid Schedule

One of the great things about VipKid is you really do get to make your own schedule. Now, when you are first starting out all of your slots you want may not get booked. This may lead you working a few unwanted hours, just to get your name out there. I have now been with VipKid for 3 months, and I enjoy my schedule. I am 100% a morning person. I like to get up at 4 am (Eastern Time), knock a few hours out and be done for the day. If you are a night owl, no worries, there is a schedule for you, too!

What does my schedule really look like?
Right now, I work 4-9 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I will work the weekend if I don't have any plans with the family. Remember, currently I am a brick and mortar teacher on summer break. Do I work during the school year? Yes!  During the school year, I teach for two hours before school Monday - Friday.

When do you get booked? 
Parents can book you two weeks in advanced. I open all my slots 3 weeks in advanced. This helps the parents see that I am available and willing to work. Each classroom also has the options to be booked with in 1-24 hours before the class starts. I usually keep that checked and it helps me to get more trial classes.

How much time do you spend lesson planning?
Vipkid makes it super easy on their teachers. So, I would say I probably spend about 3-5 minutes prepping for each class. When you get booked for non-trial classes the material you will teach automatically shows up. I will look through the slides, and find some props/reward according to what I need. I also will look at my student info to match my props and rewards to their interest.

VIPKID Profile Video
